How To Market Your Business During Covid-19
Apr 22, 2020We are in some strange and crazy times, however, there are some key strategies and tactics you should be doing right now! On today's episode of Digital Champions, I discuss How To Market Your Business During COVID19.
The first thing you wanna be doing is building relationships.
This is what it's all about, all right? So, I know a lot of people may not be spending money right now. So this is your opportunity to really start creating content and building a following, building your audience, communicating. There is a lot more people that are online right now. There's a lot of attention online.
People are at home, people are on social media. So this is a great opportunity for you to start building your audience to a higher level, expanding your reach, putting in new effects that are going to continue to help you later down the line. This is what it's all about. It's about building an audience.
But, in that, when you are building your audience, there's an important thing that you need to know. Because, depending on what social media platform you're working with.
Now, the thing that's important to realize is that, yes, social media is awesome. But you can't rely on specific platforms. A lot of times I talk about being on multiple platforms. And the reason for that is, is that you never know what could happen. The government could come in with Facebook, and just shut them down. Instagram, down. LinkedIn, gone. YouTube, gone. You never know what could happen. So you wanna make sure that you're spreading out on your different platforms.
Now, that being said, you wanna make sure that you own your audience. So, what does that mean? It means that you have their email. So how are you going about to acquire these emails during this time? The best way to do this is to offer free content, free training, all right?
So you can create a document, a one-pager, a checklist, something of that sort that helps your audience, educates them. Something they can use, and they can do it quickly.
Another thing is an eBook. I have my free eBook called "Video Social 101." It's short, it's quick, it's easy to read. Somebody can get it and download it, and it's been doing very well, specifically during this time period because of people wanting to learn this content.
And the last thing you can do is offer some type of free training. You can do a webinar, or you can pre-record some type of training to get people into your funnel. Generate those email lists. This is huge, this is what it's all about. This is how you own your audience. This is how you create leads. But you need to have their email address.
Because once you do that, it allows you to one, send them emails, obviously, but then even if they opt out of your email list, you can still upload an email list to your Facebook ads and create a custom audience based on the email addresses that you've acquired. So it is so critical that you get these email addresses.
Now, the most important thing when you're creating videos or just your social media posts, you wanna have some type of call to action. Now, in this case, because of what I'm talking about with building an email list, your call to action for all of your videos should be specific towards them going to your website and downloading your free content, free training, free eBook, whatever it may be. This is where it's important.
So during all this craziness, when everything's going on, start building your audience, start building your email list now. People are seeking training, they're seeking content right now. They want to learn. So now is your opportunity to acquire them and get it.
And hey, they may not be buying right now. But then think about this. The people who are buying, you can get in front of their eyes by creating lots of content right now. And the people that are not, you're establishing those relationships now, so that when things get better, and they will get better, they will be already fans of you and want to invest in you. So by the time it comes when things are more stable and they're ready to invest, they are going to come to you.
These are some quick tips on how you can market your business during COVID-19 and this lockdown. I really hope that this content helps. I hope it inspires you a little bit to get going and start utilizing this time valuably.
